What Is the Red Kettle Campaign?

The Salvation Army Red Kettle has been an American tradition since 1891, helping raise financial support for critical Salvation Army programs and services year round. This campaign allows you to host your own Red Kettle online. You become a vital part of our Christmas efforts when you help those in need by hosting an Online Red Kettle and filling it with donations from family, friends, and colleagues.

How Do I Start My Own Red Kettle?

  • Visit www.redkettlereason.org
  • Choose the community your funds will support by entering your state or zip code.
  • Select a cause you want to support:
    1. Make Christmas Possible
    2. Feed the Hungry
    3. Shelter the Homeless
    4. Meet the Greatest Need
  • Start a fundraiser and share your #RedKettleReason.

What Types of Online Red Kettles Are Available?

You can raise money for the online Red Kettle in the following ways:

  1. Fundraise solo – Have your own personal online kettle where you can invite others to donate to the cause of your choice.
  2. Start a team – Fundraise as a team with your family, friends, or company. Team kettles are made up of multiple individual kettles. Funds raised by each individual kettle within the team are combined and reflected on the team kettle page.
  3. Join a team – Select an existing team from the community you’d like your funds to support.

Volunteer As A Bell Ringer!

The bell ringing season starts each November and runs through Christmas Eve.

Volunteers are the difference between an empty kettle and one that raises about $30 per hour – enough to provide a family with two bags of groceries, or shelter an individual for a night.
