BRASS HAT CAFE TURNS UP THE HEAT FOR CELEBRATORY
COMMUNITY COOKOUT

WESTMINSTER, MD (April 5, 2018) — The Carroll County community will receive a tasty treat this spring at Brass Hat Café’s upcoming Community Spring Fling Cookout.

Since opening its doors in April 2017, The Salvation Army’s complimentary bistro, Brass Hat Café, has provided more than 11,000 free, hot meals to over 2,000 households in Westminster.

To celebrate their opening year, Brass Hat Café, located at 300 Hahn Road, Westminster, MD 21157, will host their Community Spring Fling Cookout on Wednesday, April 18 at 4:30pm. Guests will enjoy a free, outdoor BBQ, along with refreshments, prizes, and games for kids.

“We wanted to do something different and exciting to celebrate Brass Hat Café’s one-year anniversary. The cookout is an opportunity for our customers and supporters to celebrate us, as well as a fun way to introduce our program to new people.” – Nina Christian, Unit Director.

With limited options to evening meal centers in Westminster, Brass Hat Café was designed to bridge that gap for people in need, no questions asked.

Brass Hat Café is open every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, from 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm.  To learn more about Brass Hat Café, please call 410-876-9358 or visit www.salvationarmycm.org.

About The Salvation Army of Central Maryland

The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church established in Maryland in 1885, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for more than 150 years. Nearly one hundred thousand Marylanders receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a range of social services: providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, clothing, and shelter to the homeless, and after-school programs for underprivileged children through its partnership with The Boys and Girls Club of America. Eighty-two cents of every dollar The Salvation Army spends is used to support those services in Maryland.
